Very similar, except with the gold one, people would be trying to break you down for the gold. So stone seems safer.

I suspect you'd be worth far more alive than as ordinary inert gold. I think I'd rather go with the metal, myself - though I'd be a lot heavier, I'd also be less vulnerable to chipping and other such damage. And it'd look cooler too.
