I think an exoskeleton would be more protective than an endoskeleton.

One problem with invulnerable skin is that if you do get sick or injured it'll be difficult for the doctors to help out. No surgery, no IV medication...

Well, if a doctor REALLY needs to run an IV they could probably put it in your mouth or something.
