How long since the maggots have eaten?

I suspect it doesn't matter much since maggots usually don't have mouthparts robust enough to bite through undamaged human skin. Not that it makes the choice much easier.

Hopefully you'd squash some of them when you fell. And continue to squash the rest. Maggots of course..the cockroaches would just multiply :/

Both are icky, but the eyeballs are at least not actively trying to crawl into your orifices.

I'd rather fall into the vat of maggots because if I were to wake up covered in them I'd be left with the question of where the heck they all came from. I wouldn't sleep well until that was answered.
